Life is about the people you meet and the things you create with them.

” (Holstee Manifesto)

Grüezi, I'm Fabian Pfortmüller, a Swiss entrepreneur in NYC. I run COMMUNITY, a strategic advisory firm that helps organizations build authentic communities, brands and cultures.

Most recently I co-founded Holstee with two of my best friends, Dave & Mike Radparvar, a lifestyle brand that exists to help people lead mindful lives through products, community and stories. Holstee’s designs have been shared over 120 million times online and its products are sold in 1000+ stores worldwide. The company's mission statement (The Holstee Manifesto) has been described by the Washington Post as "the new just do it".

In 2008, I co-founded Sandbox (& Thousand), a global community of entrepreneurial minds under 30, with 1200 active members in 40+ hubs across the world. Members have been featured for their work on the front pages of Wired, Fast Company, Forbes, the Boston Globe and covered in the New York Times, Washington Post, CNN, ABC, Inc Magazine, Vogue and many other media channels.

Holstee started as a project of Incubaker, the social innovation think tank created by Dave, Mike, Thianh and myself in 2006. The Incubaker venture Simple Apps was acquired by the awesome guys of ShopStorm in 2014.

I adore NPR and co-chair the board for NPR's Generation Listen Initiative. I frequently speak at organizations around the world, including Harvard, Yale and Columbia, on the topic of entrepreneurship, values driven startups & community building. I'm a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts in London and have been recognized as “Top 99 Under 33 Foreign Policy Leaders” by the Diplomatic Courier in 2011.

I miraculously made it through school somehow and hold a B.A. in Middle Eastern Studies from Columbia University.
